Chonburi
Chonburi is a province for tourism for a very long
time. Only 81 kilometers away from Bangkok, it is very convenient
for Thai and foreign travelers to visit Chonburi although they
have only 2 days and a night during the weekend. Most popular
beaches of Chonburi are Haad Bang Saen, Haad Chom Tian, and
Haad Pattaya, where travelers may enjoy the lively nights at
clubs, bars or restaurants. As for the islands, Chonburi also
has many islands not very far from the land, those are Koh Lan,
Koh Krok, Koh Sak, Koh Si Chang, and Koh Kang Khao , for example. |
How to get there
By car
Bang Na-Trat route : Start from Bang Na Road into Bang
Pli Road. Pass Bang Pakong River, and enter Chonburi Town. The
distance is 81 kilometers.
Moterway Bangkok-Chonburi : This motorway will bring
you to the highway 36 where you can get to Pattaya very easily.
You can enter this motorway from Ram Intra Road (before reaching
Fashion Island Shopping Center), or at Rama XI Road. The distance
is 68 kilometers.
Sukhumwit route : From Sukhumwit Road, passing Samut
Prakan until you reach Amphoe Bang Pakong Junction, get into
the highway 34. Drive further on this highway and you will find
Chonburi Town. The distance is 93 kilometers.
Meanburi - Chacheng Sao route : Get the highway 314 to
Amphoe Bang Pakong. Then continue on the highway 34 to Chonburi
Town. The distance is 135 kilometers.
By Bus : From Ekkamai Bus Station, there are first classs
air-conditioned buses to Chonburi every 40 minutes from 05.30
am - 09.00 pm. You can get off at Chonburi Town, Amphoe Panasnikhom,
Amphoe Si Racha, and Pattaya-Sattahip. From Mo Chit Bus Station,
there are ari-conditioned buses to Chonburi from 06.30 am-06.30

: Around 7.5 kilometers away from Pattaya.To get
there : There are passenger boats from Pattaya Tai
Port (Bali Hai Port) to Koh Lan all the day. The
boat operates between 07.00 am-6.30 pm from Pattaya
to Koh Lan, and 06.30 am-6.00 pm from Koh Lan to
Pattaya. The journey takes about 45 minutes. |

Details : Koh Lan covers an area of 5.6
square kilometers. It is quite a large island
and is quite popular for foreign tourists nowadays.
Around Koh Lan are many fantastic diving spots,
as well as beautiful beaches. The central of the
island is at Na Ban Port, where you can get motorcycles
or minubus to the beaches.
Haad Ta Waen : Haad Ta Waen is the most beautiful
and the longest beach of the island. There are
restaurants and watersport equipments for rent
here, as well as motorboat service to other parts
of the island.
Hadd Sang Wan : Haad Sang Wan is a 150-meter-long
beach next to Haad Ta Waen. The beach is also
beautiful but much more peaceful, so visitors
often come here to sunbathe.
Haad Same : Located in the southwest of the
island, this sandy beach is long and very serene.
Haad Tian : Located a little bit further to
the west from Haad Same, Haad Tian is a 500-meter-long
sandy beach lively with sea activity services
similar to Haad Ta Waen. Besides, Haad Tian is
also another good spot to do skin diving.
Haad Nuan : Located in the south of the island,
this 250-meter-long sandy beach lively with sea
activity services similar to Haad Ta Waen. Besides,
Haad Tian is also another good spot to do skin
diving.

Haad Thong Lang : This small beach is in the
north of the island and is also peaceful and private.
