ChumPhon
Located in the upper south of Thailand, Chumphon is regarded as the gateway to the South, with a 222-kilometer-long coastime along the Gulf of Thailand. Along this shoreline are beaches and bays that are long and wide with a gentle slope. Every beach is accessible by kconcrete road and passed by the railway, and they are all charming and very peaceful. Not to mention more than 40 islands in Chumphon Sea which possess marvelous underwater world of fertile coral reefs. The islands are divided into three groups which are islands in Amphoe Pa Tew, islands in Chumphon Town, and the only one island called Koh Phi Tak located in Amphoe Lang Suan, Sea activities of Chumphon are sailing to see the scenery, snorkeling, scuba diving, traveling in Homestay style (live with a seaman family), or Live-aboard style (diving trip by living on board).

How to get there
By car : From Bangkok, take the route Bhudda Monton-Nakhon Pathom-Petchburi, or the route Thonburi-Pak Tor, the highway 35. Then get into the highway 4 (Phetkasaem Road) at around Pak Tor Intersection. Pass Petchburi, and Prachuab Khiri Khan. When you reach Pathom Phon Intersection, continue with the highway 4001 for another 8 kilometers into Chumphon Town. The total distance is 498 kilometers, and the trip take around 6 hours.

By Bus : There are many kinds of buses from Southern Bus Station to Chumphon everyday. The journey take 7-8 hours.

From Chumphon to Islands
Travelers can get to Koh Tao, Koh Pa Ngan, and Koh Samui by getting passenger boat at Tha Yang Port in Chumphon. The journey to Koh Tao takes around 1.30-2.30 hours.
